The 1st annual Zombie Run was held at the fairgrounds ( Harmony Free Fair) on Saturday October 12, 2013.
It was the first to be held anywhere in this area. Plans for the 2014 Zombie Run are in the making. Like us on
Facebook and let us know what changes you'd like to see. Like last year, come run, be a zombie or just a
spectator. Prizes for runners and for best zombies. The better the costumes, the more fun. Remember most
zombies can't move fast, they just lumber, so you don't have to be able to run to be a zombie.
Check out our Facebook album for more picture from the Zombie Run.
The Harmony Patriarchs Club, in an attempt to recoup losses from the rained-out
Harmony Free Fair, have rented the fairgrounds to the Government, which is using
it as a Zombie Transfer Station (ZTS-Harmony). Zombies from throughout the local
area, when located, are rounded up and herded into ZTS-H, awaiting permanent
removal to the south side of the Kittery Bridge.
Several younger residents have been caught attempting daredevil runs through ZTS-H, and the
Patriarchs Club, sensing an opportunity to raise ...more money,
has gained permission to allow runners, for a small fee, to brave the Zombies of
ZTS-H. On Saturday, October 18, the Harmony Patriarchs Club turns its
fairgrounds into a zombie-infested OBSTACLE COURSE! Runners of all ages will be
challenged to face their former friends and relatives who have become zombies..
The runners will wear life-energy flags around their waists, which the zombies
will try to grab as runners complete the course. Lose all your flags, and you
become a zombie yourself!
Anyone may chose to be a runner or a zombie, and the entrance fee for either is $5, spectators free.
All proceeds benefit the Harmony Patriarchs Club, a community-betterment organization. Make-up help
and Zombification supplies will be offered to those needing it, beginning at
10am. Registration also begins at 10am; the races begin at 1pm. There will be
cash prizes for best costumes (runners and zombies), the winning runner, the
zombie with the most flags, etc.
There will be an awards ceremony and a post-apocalyptic party and dance with music and food afterward
fill out the day. Come train for the Zombie Apocalypse!
