“Givers of Harmony”
Darren Huff
This year’s Harmony Free Fair Program Book is dedicated to Darren Huff.
Huff’s Disposal was started back in 1974 by Darren’s dad, Elmer Huff. Darren
worked with his father for many years, and in 2000, Darren took over the family
business. Today, with the help of his two sons, Dylan and Devin, the family waste
management company covers over twelve towns.
As his father did when he ran the company, Darren is there at the Harmony
Fairgrounds early in the morning, and I mean real early, to take away the garbage
from the previous day. Huff’s Disposal has never sent the Patriarch’s Club a bill in
the past 45 years. When asked how much we owe, the answer is always, “That’s our
donation to the Fair.”
If you want to meet Darren during the Fair, the best place to find him is at the
horseshoe tournament or the hammer throw. He has also been known to visit the
food pavilion occasionally.
When not working, Darren enjoys camping, having barbeques at his home in
Harmony, and always practicing that game of horseshoes.
Thank you, Darren, for all you have done over the years for the Fair and for the
Town of Harmony.
